For a business, just jumping into a major change has some risks, so you'll want to ensure continuity of work-flows, data and skills.

Companies in the South of England can call on our visiting service for a full systems analysis and thoughtful advice to make a careful and successful change.

We've been using Linux (and other alternatives) for decades and can give you unique advice and insights, especially for small businesses.

Switching to Linux (or BSD) may be the single smartest long term investment for cybersecurity, lower IT costs and improved reliability.

Why are people switching?

Microsoft has ended official support for Windows 10. So what about Windows 11? Reality is, it's pretty damn awful. Everyone is complaining. And now we all have to deal with the problems of American BigTech software.

  • Windows isn't really an operating system that lives on your computer any more. It's just "in the cloud", which means all your personal data is too. Not good!
  • People want an OS that respects their privacy. Windows is very intrusive and forces "AI" spying on users.
  • Gaming has vastly improved on Linux thanks to Valve Steam Deck
  • Full compatibility of old Windows programs in Linux via WINE
  • Linux is free, not just on price but free as in FREEDOM! You can do what you like with it because you are in full control.
  • Linux is infinitely customisable. Make it look how you like and do what you want.

Which Linux do I choose?

Linux is actually the name for a whole universe of products. There are hundreds of variations, many plain and familiar, many strange and wonderful. They're called "distros".

If you have an Android phone then you're already using Linux. Android is just Google's brand of Linux. Not one we necessarily recommend, but….

Here's a few external links to popular distros for you to investigate.

[Zorin] Easy to use. Popular with beginners. Customisable.
[Mint] Stunning desktop. Great hardware support. Big community.
[Ubuntu] Popular with creatives and developers. Long term support.
[Debian] Oldest and most respected. Highly stable.
[PopOS] Most up to date software. Easy updates. Always fresh.
[Fedora] From IBMs RedHat lineage. Industrial strength.
